In the defense industry, gases such as chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals (TICs), flammable gases, and oxygen-depleting substances are key concerns. Detection systems are employed to identify chemical warfare agents like sarin or mustard gas, which pose severe threats during combat or in terrorist attacks. TICs such as ammonia, chlorine, or hydrogen sulfide, often used in industrial processes on military bases or facilities, also require constant monitoring to prevent exposure. Flammable gases like methane or propane, which may be present in fuel storage or during vehicle maintenance, pose risks of explosions if undetected.
