Gas Detection for Car Parks
Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen Dioxide Sensors for Car Parks
Gas monitoring in car parks is essential for several safety and health reasons, particularly in enclosed or underground facilities where ventilation might be limited. One of the main reasons is the detection of harmful gases such as carbon monoxide (CO) & nitrogen dioxide (NO₂). Vehicles with internal combustion engines emit CO, a colorless and odorless gas that can be deadly in high concentrations. NO₂, another toxic byproduct of vehicle emissions, can cause respiratory problems.
By monitoring gas levels, car park operators can prevent poisoning and improve air quality, ensuring that ventilation systems maintain safe levels of gases to protect both drivers and pedestrians.
Gas monitoring systems also play an important role in the automatic control of ventilation. When gas levels rise, particularly CO, the monitoring system can trigger the ventilation system to circulate fresh air, reducing harmful gases and maintaining safe air quality. Early detection allows for timely responses, such as evacuation or ventilation adjustments to prevent accidents and protect the health and safety of occupants.
We offer CO and NO2 sensors in a variety of configurations, including simple 4-20 mA or 2-10 VDC outputs. Our sensors come with control systems for standalone operation and support daisy chain solutions for up to 96 sensors. Additionally, we provide an EN50545 certified SIL1 system for car park monitoring. Please contact us for any specific requirements you may have.
