Fumigation is considered a curative treatment that adds to storage hygiene by maintaining an infestation-free storage environment in compliance with regulatory requirements.The fumigants used in this process often present a toxicity risk for the operators in case of excessive exposure. To ensure effective fumigation, monitoring fumigation is equally important.
Monitoring fumigation is a process of measuring the concentration of fumigant gas inside a fumigation enclosure. Monitoring ensures:
- Correct quantity of fumigant has been introduced to the enclosure chamber
- Fumigant has been evenly distributed within the chamber
- There are no leaks outside the chamber
Our Fumisense Pro is a hand-held device for monitoring the most commonly used fumigants: Phosphine (PH3) and Methyl Bromide (MBr).
Fumisense Pro PH3 monitors PH3 concentrations in the range of 2000 ppm.
